That’s a very long title that we got there!
I told you on my latest haul that I am addicted in buying curl enhancing products. So every time I am at the mall I scout for them.
I emptied my Monea Curl Defining Lotion (and I really like it) but before my repurchase I tried this Organix Smooth Hydration Argan Oil & Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Yogurt
Php449, SM Megamall Beauty Section (UG Ground Floor Department Store)
At first I knew it was expensive but the Rizo’s Soft Bouncy Cream which cost me Php1350, I thought this is a lot cheaper. LOL
The products says…
Indulge your curls with this creamy blend of moisturizing Shea Butter to balance hair and scalp while weightless Argan Oil remotes luster for decadent, springy, soft, touchable curls.
What made me bought this product is the Argan Oil. What does Argan Oil do to the hair??
Here are some benefits listed on http://www.arganoilsociety.org/argan-oil-benefits-for-hair/
-
Argan oil hydrates the hair in a natural way. It stops the curliness and roughness of hair in an efficient way.
-
Argan oil penetrates into the hair pores or shafts and enhances the elasticity of hair. It also proves to be very nourishing for the growth of hair.
-
Argan oil is very good for uncontrollable and unmanageable hair. It restores the smoothness of hair and makes them manageable again.
-
Natural antioxidants present in Argan oil strengthen the hair by repairing the damaged cellular membrane of hair.
-
Presence of Vitamin E in Argan oil makes it a tremendous agent for hair treatment. Many external and internal agents like heat, over styling and oxidization damage the hair. Vitamin E present in Argan oil is very useful in restoring the natural hair and renewing and repairing the damage caused by destructive agents.
-
Researchers believe that non-greasy Argan oil locks the moisture in and adds to and restores the luster and shine of hair.
-
Color treatment of hair causes certain damage to hair, makes them brittle and takes away the smoothness. It is an additional benefit of Argan oil that it cures the brittle hair and increases the life of color treated hair. In this job it even surpasses in competitiveness from Jojoba oil.
-
It is believed by hair stylists that Argan oil may finally be the right choice to heal and restore the damaged, dry and weak hair from environmental extremes, excessive styling practices and perms.
-
Rich contents of unsaturated fatty acids like Omega 3 and Omega 9 in Argan oil are a direct source of essential nutritional components for hair pores and roots. These unsaturated fatty acids strengthen the protein bonding structures in hair thereby improving strength of hair and healing the split ends of hair.
It is even called the Liquid Gold by the experts. Contrary to what I read above that it stops the curliness, this product is going to make your existing curls BETTER (at least tamed).
Here’s what I say…
- It’s like a leave on conditioner which smells heavenly. It smells like the Dove Shea Butter variant.
- It doesn’t really activates the curls but it gives you a very delicate waves, more natural looking curls I should say.
- This product will be perfect for people who have naturally curly hair, not that much on perm hair like mine.
- It’s non greasy and really weightless, thinner than a mayonnaise, if I may compare. Once it penetrated the hair strand it feels nothing at all. It feels soft on the hand too.
- While wet you will see the curls defined really well but through out the day it fades. In my opinion I should try a diffuser or at least try to take time to set the curls before I leave the house.
- A dollop could go a very long way, even if you put it near the roots it won’t produce oil.
I’ve been using it ever since I got it, even during weekends. Mousse makes my curls look fake and wet so I prefer the bed hair effect made by this product.
The only down side would be the price.
Would I get one again? Maybe the other styling products for curly hair. they still have 2 or 3 products for curls. I also want to try their shampoos. So let’s save a penny for that.
I am planning to keep my hair this way.
How about you? What products do you use for your hair?
